Prevention
and incident response

Most companies discover an IT security gap at one of two moments: during an audit, or during an incident.Cybersecurity isn't a state you achieve - it's a process you maintain. Safeguards bought three years ago and never reconfigured for today's threats aren't safeguards - they're a false sense of security.

Meanwhile, the average dwell time of an undetected infection in Poland is 287 days. For almost a year, malicious code can already be sitting in the network, patiently mapping resources and infecting backups - before anyone spots a single signal.

At Engave, we don't start with technology - we start with a question: what happens to your company if a system goes down tomorrow? Which processes stop first? Who loses access to what? What does it cost per hour, per day, per week? The answers to these questions set priorities better than any licensing price list.

Prevention and response aren't a one-off purchase. They're a decision to know - based on testing, not belief - that your company is resilient. Before you're forced to find out under real conditions.

Zero Trust Security

81% of data breaches start with a compromised account that had excessive privileges. Not a firewall break-in - an employee account that had access to too many things, because someone once granted permissions "just in case" and no one ever revoked them.

The traditional security model assumes that a user inside the company network can be trusted. That assumption stopped holding the moment VPNs, the cloud, and remote work appeared. Today, the company network doesn't exist as a secure perimeter - it exists only as the illusion of one.

Zero Trust replaces the question "is the user on the network?" with "does the user have the right to perform this specific action right now?". Every access request - regardless of where it comes from - is verified individually. In practice, this means that one employee's compromised account doesn't give an attacker access to the entire organization.

Companies with Zero Trust in place lose an average of USD 1.76M less after a cyberattack and detect incidents 25 days faster than organizations without this architecture.

IT security audit

After 15 years, we see the same pattern: a backup that "worked" - hadn't been tested in a year. A server that was "up to date" had dozens of unpatched security updates outstanding. A former employee's VPN account that was supposedly "closed" - was still active. Each of these is a risk the organization carried unknowingly - sometimes for months.

An IT security audit turns "we think we're secure" into a concrete picture of reality. We examine eight areas of infrastructure - from the physical security of server rooms, through network and access rights, to NIS2 and GDPR compliance.

The report is ready for the board, for an external auditor, and for the regulator. Companies that go into a UODO inspection or a corporate client audit with up-to-date documentation have a real advantage over those that start scrambling for paperwork after the notice arrives.

Backup
as a service

The biggest problem with backups isn't that companies don't have them. The problem is that they make them and assume they work - without testing, without verification, often on a drive sitting physically next to the server it's supposed to protect. They find out the copy is useless at exactly the moment they try to use it for the first time, during a real outage.

Backup as a Service is a service where we take responsibility for making sure copies of your data actually work when needed - not just that they get created on schedule. We automatically copy files, databases, systems and mailboxes to an encrypted environment in Engave Cloud. We regularly test restores - not "every now and then", but on a set schedule with documented results. Your IT team gets a report, not another system to babysit.

You pay a predictable subscription for the space you actually use, with no investment in backup infrastructure that ages every year and requires its own upkeep. We agree together on the scope, frequency of copies and data retention period - tailored to your operational and regulatory requirements, including NIS2 and ISO 27001.

Service model (OpEx)
pay for use, not for hardware

Forget large upfront investments (CapEx) in backup infrastructure that ages every year. With the BaaS model, you use our secure cloud (Engave Cloud). You cut costs by paying a predictable subscription only for what you actually need, with no hidden charges for power, cooling or hardware maintenance.

Full service (Managed Services)

We take responsibility. Your IT team no longer has to waste time "watching progress bars". Our experts monitor backup processes, verify their correctness and make sure schedules are followed as planned. You protect key assets without tying up your own staff

Regulatory compliance (NIS2, ISO 27001)

With Engave's BaaS service, you automatically raise your organization's compliance level. We provide the reporting, analytics and security standards required by the latest directives, such as NIS2, and ISO standards. It's a ready-made answer to security audit requirements.

Disaster Recovery

Backup means copies of data. Disaster Recovery answers a question most companies ask themselves too late: how long will it take us to fully get back up and running after a total loss of the production environment? Not "roughly" - precisely, in hours and minutes.

We design DR environments around two parameters that directly determine the cost of downtime:

🟡 RTO - Recovery Time Objective - the maximum time from failure to resumption of operations.

🟡 RPO - Recovery Point Objective - the maximum amount of data you can afford to lose, measured in time: the last hour, the last five minutes, zero.

We help you choose parameters that are justified from a business perspective, not just a technical one. The standby environment can be in the Engave cloud or physical - depending on your organization's requirements and sector regulations.

Data Archiving

Every working day, your company generates data you don't use daily but can't get rid of - invoices, contracts, correspondence, reports. Tax law requires documents to be kept for 5 years. GDPR imposes personal data retention obligations. Sector regulations add their own requirements.

The result is predictable: production systems get "clogged" with three-year-old data, and the IT department regularly firefights storage shortages instead of focusing on something more important.

Archiving isn't the same as backup. Backup protects you against the loss of active data - in case of a failure or attack. An archive moves inactive data to a secure, cheaper environment and keeps it there for the required period in a compliant way, with full search and retrieval capability when an inspection or audit comes along.

At Engave, we design retention policies tailored to your industry specifics and your organization's legal requirements - so you know exactly what's stored where, for how long, and why.

Backup testing and validation

Having a plan and having a working plan are two different things. Companies regularly discover the difference at the worst possible moment - when, after an attack, it turns out that backups were being made, but no one checked whether they could actually be restored, or that the backup had contained encrypted files for months because the infection reached it before anyone detected it.

We run regular tests with full documentation: restore time, data quality, compliance with RTO and RPO. We also check data hygiene - whether the backup contains files that would relaunch the attack once restored.

The test report is ready-made evidence for regulators and insurers that your organization's recovery capabilities are verified, not just declared. NIS2 and DORA explicitly require this kind of documentation.

Digital Bunker

Every company that has paid a ransom to a hacker had a backup. The problem wasn't the lack of a data copy - it was that the backup was accessible from the same network as the production environment. When ransomware encrypted production, it encrypted the backup too.

Digital Bunker is a physically isolated data recovery environment - inaccessible from the infected network, independent of the internet, and built on the "assume breach" principle: we assume the production environment has been compromised, and design protection so the Bunker stays out of its reach regardless of the scale of the attack.

We designed and implemented this system for Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych - one of the largest cybersecurity projects in Polish public administration. Today, this technology is available on a subscription model - no infrastructure of your own, no multi-million investment required.

ISO Certificates

ISO certifications are a global standard of excellence, guaranteeing that our company operates effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.

It's proof that our organization is committed to continuous improvement, taking both quality and customer satisfaction seriously.

Encryption
end-to-end

A data leak rarely looks like a break-in at a vault. More often it looks like an email sent to the wrong recipient, a file shared over an unsecured link, or correspondence intercepted on a network your employee is using while traveling. Contracts, customers' personal data, deal details, strategies - this is information that has value to competitors and legal weight with a regulator who will ask what you did to protect it.

End-to-end encryption means data stays encrypted throughout its entire journey - from the moment it's sent to the moment it's read by the intended recipient. The Zero Knowledge model goes a step further: even the infrastructure operator has no technical way to read the content.

We implement encryption of communications, files and data at rest - as part of a coherent security policy, not as a separate tool bolted onto an existing environment.
